Sunday ![]() Too often in today’s busy world the knowledge and study of the Bible is not a top priority in young peoples’ educational experience. Yet the Bible contains so much to help a young person find and develop a happy and fulfilling life. Learning to put spiritual values to work is a primary focus in the Christian Science Sunday School. These young people learn how the Bible can deal with personal, moral, and physical challenges in the light of Christian Science. The Sunday School meets at 10:00 AM each Sunday for one hour, the same time as the Sunday Worship Service. Children and Young people up to the age of twenty concerned about identity, relationships, or who feel concern and fear about the future can find guidance in a loving, supportive environment. A Sunday School service begins with everyone singing a hymn with piano accompaniment, which is then followed by a few moments of silent prayer, and an audible repetition of the Lord's Prayer. The remainder of the hour is spent with teachers in classes by age group. These teachers provide spiritual guidance while relating their own life experiences to students. Young people are taught the Scriptures starting with The Ten Commandments, The Sermon on the Mount, The Lord's Prayer and its spiritual interpretation by Mary Baker Eddy. Older classes consist of questions and answers as related to study of the Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lessons also read in church services. Sunday School gives young people the tools they need to meet the many challenges faced by today’s youth. Children too young for Sunday School are welcomed into our Child Care Room.
